When I started my first business, I didn’t know anything, especially that there Free help available to me. I waisted a lot of time and money getting things started and making a bunch of mistakes that could have been avoided. There were a lot of things that I didn’t know then that I know now.
One of the things I learned is that every single business needs help. If you want to be successful, you can’t do it alone. You have to build a network of people, business, and services where you can help each other, learn from each other, or get services from.
NYC has what’s called Procurement Technical Assistance Center’s (PTAC) that provide a variety of services. It is highly advised that if you’re looking to get into government contracting, or just want to start a business, get help from your local PTAC. It’s all FREE and it’s like having an extension of advisers for your business that do work for you and can help get you where you need to be.
The services they provide include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance with certifications
- Training courses
- Navigating government contracting
- Business and Strategic planning
- and a host of other business services to help you with your business
